Who we are

ByMySun is an independent comparison and lead-generation service. We don't install solar — we connect homeowners who ask us to with a small number of vetted MCS-certified installers. For data-protection purposes, ByMySun is the data controller for the information you give us through this site. You can reach us at hello@bymysun.com.

What we collect

When you ask us for quotes or use our tools, we collect the details you provide: your name, email, phone (if given), postcode, and information about your property and energy goals. We also record the consent wording you agreed to, the date and time, and your IP address, so we have a clear record of your permission.

How we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your details to match you with a small number (a maximum of three) of vetted MCS-certified installers so they can provide quotes. We only do this where you have given us explicit consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations). You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing hello@bymysun.com.

Who we share it with

Only the installers you consented to be matched with, and the service providers that host this site and our database. We never sell your data, and we never pass it to anyone you didn’t ask to hear from. We do not cold-call.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry data only as long as necessary to provide the service and to evidence consent — typically up to 24 months — after which it is deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, to withdraw consent, and to object to or restrict processing. Email hello@bymysun.com and we’ll respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies

We use only essential cookies and local storage needed to run the site (for example, to remember that you dismissed the VAT notice). We don’t run advertising trackers. If we add analytics in future, we’ll ask for your consent first and update this page.
